Biodegradable Cafeteria Ware and
Product Packaging
Biodegradable Cups and Containers
Natures Solutions biodegradable single use clear cups and
containers are made of a natural resin called polylactide (PLA).
Their performance and appearance is like those made of
oil-based plastics.
Production of PLA involves breaking down plant starches into
natural sugars. The sugar is fermented and distilled to
extract the carbon which is the basic building block for
commercial-grade plastics. It is created from renewable
plant resources and requires fewer fossil resources in the
process.
Their natural origin makes Natures Solutions cups, lids and
containers totally compostable. They are completely
degradable in commercial and municipal composting
facilities, and degrade in water, carbon dioxide and organic
materials.
PLA-based cups and containers are suitable only for cold
food and beverages. Sizes currently available are 250, 300,
400 and 500ml.
Biodegradable Tableware
Natures Solutions biodegradable tableware is made from sugar
cane fiber remaining after the extraction of juice from the
sugar cane. This renewable resource is utilized in the
manufacture of products normally made of plastic or paper
and avoids pollution from the standard practice of burning
the sugar cane pulp after the juice is extracted.
Natures Solutions tableware is soak proof (no plastic or was
is applied) and may be utilized for both hot or cold items.
An alternative to plastic or paper tableware that is:
Able to handle hot liquids to 212°
Fahrenheit
Microwavable and freezer safe
Sterilized and sanitized, conforms
to US Food and Drug Administration standards
Fully compostable, sturdy and
strong
A wide variety of sizes and styles are available in plates,
bowls, lids and cups
Biodegradable Utensils
Natures Solutions biodegradable utensils are manufactured
from wheat. They are excellent for hot items like soup or
coffee and they have the look and feel of plastic. Their
color is a light tan and the utensils have a shelf life of
five years. Natures Solutions wheat-based utensils are
reusable as they are dishwasher safe. Our forks, knives,
spoons and sporks outperform utensils in boiling and
microwave testing yet they will break down when composted.
